Diwali in London 2024 – A Joyous Celebration
It was an absolute honour to be involved in Diwali in London 2024, with our act, The Elephants on Parade, performing at both the Trafalgar Square and Wembley Park celebrations. Taking part in two of the capital’s largest and most vibrant Diwali events was a truly memorable experience for our entire team.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the organisers of both events for inviting us to be part of their festivities. It was a privilege to perform for such enthusiastic and diverse audiences, and to contribute to the magic, colour, and joy that define Diwali celebrations across the city.
We were also thrilled to be featured by a number of major media outlets, including the BBC, Sky News, CBeebies, and various international news networks. This global coverage brought our performance to a wider audience and allowed us to share the spirit of Diwali with people all around the world.
Diwali is a deeply meaningful religious festival celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs. Traditionally symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil, it is also a time for family, reflection, and community. As the diaspora has grown, so too has Diwali’s reach—it is now celebrated by people of many cultures and faiths around the world.
In London, Trafalgar Square serves as the heart of the city’s celebrations, drawing thousands each year. Events in Wembley Park and across the UK further reflect the rich tapestry of communities who celebrate this beautiful festival.
We are incredibly proud to have been part of Diwali in London 2024 and look forward to many more opportunities to share our work in the future.
